I'm very excited to be spending the next five weeks photographing in and around Nebraska City, thanks to a residency at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts.  I'm here through February:

UPDATE 3/11: I'm returning for a sixth week in March, extending through March 19.

New Work: In-Progress Picture Posts

I'm endeavoring to share more new work as I process it, and recent outtakes or one-offs that may not otherwise see the backlight of a screen.  I'll aim to post close to weekly, and you can follow along over on the blog.

I'm kicking things off with this shot I made with good boy Buster and his man Terry last summer, while shooting for my series, Mid—.

Which reminds me of an earlier shot I made of Buster and Terry some five years back, so I dug that one up too.

New Work: Mid—

Added on by Elise Kirk.

I'm excited to finally share the new body of work I've been happily toiling at over the last two years. These pictures were made throughout Missouri, Kansas and Iowa, the home states of myself and my parents, and a region that has come to represent both transience (the flyover or drive-through states) and rootedness (the mythical agrarian breadbasket of a nation). You can see my interpretation of this metaphorical intersection here.

On Display: RISD Photo Triennial

Folks in the Providence area: I have new work currently on display (including this peek from summer, below) in the Rhode Island School of Design Photography Department Triennial.  It's a talented and diverse group of photographers and I'm proud to be part of it.
