I am honored to be part of this exhibition, with three works from my series Mid— displayed in conversation with photographers whose work I deeply admire, on view Feb 1 through July 20 at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City. An artists’ discussion is scheduled for April 17.
“Great storytelling conveys a sense of place: it is as important as establishing characters, symbolism, and plot. The 10 artists featured in this exhibition weave together influences from music, fiction, history, folklore, and photography itself to tell compelling stories about people and communities shaped by the land they inhabit. Their intimate photographs focus on rural subjects in the Midwest, South, and Western United States, often challenging our preconceptions of these regions.”
Organized by The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art with support provided by the Hall Family Foundation. Curated by April Watson. Featuring work by Antone Dolezal, Terry Evans, Laura McPhee, Rahim Fortune, Holly Lynton, Elise Kirk, Kristine Potter, RaMell Ross, Bryan Schutmaat, and Lara Shipley
I’m thrilled to have my image Leap included in Re/Member/Construct, juried by Lisa Volpe, Associate Curator, Photography, Museum of Fine Arts Houston. On view at Filter Space in Chicago through October 27.

Thanks to Pool Resources for featuring work from my series Mid—. There is a lot of wonderful photography to pour through over here...
I'm excited to finally share the new body of work I've been happily toiling at over the last two years. These pictures were made throughout Missouri, Kansas and Iowa, the home states of myself and my parents, and a region that has come to represent both transience (the flyover or drive-through states) and rootedness (the mythical agrarian breadbasket of a nation). You can see my interpretation of this metaphorical intersection here.
