Folks at SPE in Las Vegas: Head to the Pavilion Ballroom on Saturday from 8-10 pm for a reception of the 4th International Combined Caucus Exhibition, juried by Aline Smithson and including my own Swan, Bunny.
I'm very excited to be spending the next five weeks photographing in and around Nebraska City, thanks to a residency at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts. I'm here through February:
UPDATE 3/11: I'm returning for a sixth week in March, extending through March 19.
(Picture fewer flowers, more snow.)
Lawrence, Kansas: I'm excited to be part of this group show in conversation with two 1970s Kansas photo books — No Mountains in the Way and The Kansas Album — and featuring current images from nine photographers working in the same area some forty years later.
Curated by Mike Sinclair and Bryon Darby | At the University of Kansas through December 11
November 12 — December 20, 2015 / Reception Thursday, December 10.
UPDATE 12/16: My photograph, Sidewalk, Road Watching, received 2nd Place Juror's Choice.
I'm endeavoring to share more new work as I process it, and recent outtakes or one-offs that may not otherwise see the backlight of a screen. I'll aim to post close to weekly, and you can follow along over on the blog.
I'm kicking things off with this shot I made with good boy Buster and his man Terry last summer, while shooting for my series, Mid—.
Which reminds me of an earlier shot I made of Buster and Terry some five years back, so I dug that one up too.
It's an honor to be Honorably Mentioned by my go-to photo source. And among such inspiring company, too.
I couldn't have asked for a better group of photo colleagues these past two years, and I'm excited to celebrate our collective group show, opening this week at ClampArt in Chelsea. If you're in New York please come say Hi!
Folks in the Providence area: The 2015 Rhode Island School of Design Grad Show opens this week. The work of 178 graduating MFA candidates from thirteen disciplines will be on display through the end of the month, including photographs from my new series Mid—.
Folks further afield: It's an impressive art fair explosion well worth the trip to experience live, but can also be browsed virtually here:
Rhode Island Convention Center, Exhibition Hall A
Opening Reception: Tuesday, May 19, 6-8pm
On View: May 20-30, 12-5pm
Come say hi!
I'm excited to finally share the new body of work I've been happily toiling at over the last two years. These pictures were made throughout Missouri, Kansas and Iowa, the home states of myself and my parents, and a region that has come to represent both transience (the flyover or drive-through states) and rootedness (the mythical agrarian breadbasket of a nation). You can see my interpretation of this metaphorical intersection here.
Folks in the Providence area: I have new work currently on display (including this peek from summer, below) in the Rhode Island School of Design Photography Department Triennial. It's a talented and diverse group of photographers and I'm proud to be part of it.
62 Prospect Street, Providence, Rhode Island
